FreePOS is a free point-of-sale system. All data is stored locally in your browser - no account needed.
1. Click Items in the header
2. Click + Add or go to the Add tab
3. Enter SKU (barcode number), Name, and Price
4. Click Save
Option 1 - Barcode/SKU: Type or scan the item number in "Item # / Barcode" field and press Enter
Option 2 - Quick Keys: Click any quick key button to instantly add that item
Option 3 - Manual Entry: Enter an optional Item Name and Price, then click Add
Use the +/- buttons to adjust quantities. Double-click an item for discounts.
1. Select payment method (Cash, Card, Check, or Other)
2. For cash: Enter the amount tendered or click a quick cash button
3. The change due will be calculated automatically
4. Click Complete Sale to finish and print receipt
Quick keys let you add frequently sold items with one click.
โข Click Edit next to Quick Keys or the + button
โข Search for items and click Add to create quick keys
โข Drag and drop quick keys to reorder them
โข Right-click a quick key (or use ๐จ in Edit) to assign a color
โข You can have up to 50 quick keys
Item Discount: Double-click any item in the cart to apply a % or $ discount
Transaction Discount: Use the discount section below the cart for whole-order discounts
Click Drawer to track your cash:
โข Set opening float at start of day
โข Add/remove cash for payouts or deposits
โข View running balance of cash sales
Click History to view all past sales:
โข Filter by date
โข View transaction details and receipts
โข Export to CSV or JSON
Configure your register:
โข Business name, address, phone (appears on receipts)
โข Currency and tax rate
โข Enable inventory tracking with low stock alerts
โข Receipt footer message
In Items โ Import/Export tab:
โข Import items from CSV (columns: sku, name, price)
โข Export items and transactions to CSV or JSON for backup
โข Enter in barcode field: Look up item
โข Enter in price field: Add manual item
โข Escape: Close any modal
