Free Online Screenshot Tool – No Signup

Capture your full screen, a window, or a browser tab — then crop, annotate, blur out secrets, and beautify with backgrounds and shadows. Everything happens right in your browser; nothing is ever uploaded.

🔒 100% private & in-browser 🚫 No signup 🖼️ PNG · JPG · WebP ✏️ Annotate & redact ✨ Beautify

📄 Note: browsers only let a web page capture the currently visible area of a screen, window, or tab. For a whole scrolling web page, use the full-page capture below. 👇

🌐 Full-page website screenshot runs on our server

⚠️ Heads-up — this one is not in-browser. Unlike the private screen capture above, this sends the address you type to FreeWWW's server, which loads the page and returns a full-length image. We don't store the URL or the image, and only public web pages work.

Ready when you are

Click Capture Screen and choose your entire screen, a window, or a tab in the dialog your browser shows. You can also Open image to edit a picture you already have.

Tip: set a Delay first if you need a few seconds to open a menu before the shot.

About the Free Online Screenshot Tool

This free screenshot tool lets you capture what is on your screen and turn it into a polished, shareable image without installing anything and without creating an account. Because it uses your browser's built‑in Screen Capture feature, it works on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux — and your captures stay completely private on your own machine.

How to use it

1
Capture

Click Capture Screen and pick your entire screen, a window, or a tab. Use the Delay option to give yourself time to set things up.

2
Crop & annotate

Trim to just what matters, then add arrows, boxes, text, highlights, and numbered steps.

3
Redact

Blur, pixelate, or black out passwords, emails, and anything else you don't want to share.

4
Beautify & export

Add a background, padding, and shadow, then download or copy the image as PNG, JPG, or WebP.

Features & bells and whistles

  • Full-screen, window, and tab capture with an optional countdown delay timer.
  • Full-page website screenshots — enter any public URL and get the entire scrolling page (rendered on our server; see the privacy note below).
  • Session gallery keeps every shot you take this visit so you can jump back to an earlier one.
  • Complete annotation kit: pen, straight line, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, highlighter, text, and auto‑numbered step badges.
  • Redaction tools — blur, pixelate, and solid box — that permanently bake over sensitive pixels.
  • Crop, rotate, and flip, plus non‑destructive brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, grayscale, sepia, blur, and invert.
  • Beautify like the pros with gradient or solid backgrounds, padding, rounded corners, a soft shadow, aspect‑ratio framing, and a custom watermark.
  • Flexible export to PNG, JPG, or WebP at 1×, 2×, or 3× scale, with copy‑to‑clipboard and open‑in‑new‑tab.
  • Live brightness histogram and image info so you can see what you are working with.
  • Remembers your preferences (format, background, padding, and more) on this device using local storage.
🔒 Your privacy: Screen, window, and tab captures are done 100% inside your browser — those images are never uploaded, never stored, and disappear when you close the tab. The one exception is the optional Full-page website screenshot: because a browser can't scroll another page itself, the web address you type there is sent to FreeWWW's server, which loads that public page and returns a full-length image. We don't store the address or the image — it's rendered and returned, then discarded. No sign‑in, no accounts, no tracking of your images — just a free tool.

Frequently asked questions

Is this screenshot tool really free?

Yes — completely free with no signup, no account, and no watermark forced onto your images. There are no paywalls or usage limits.

Are my screenshots uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens locally in your browser. Your captures are never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere. When you close the tab, they are gone for good.

Why do I have to pick a screen or window before capturing?

Browsers require your explicit permission before any web page can see your screen. When you click Capture Screen, your browser shows a sharing dialog where you choose exactly what to share. This keeps you fully in control of your privacy.

Can I blur out passwords or personal information?

Yes. Use the blur, pixelate, or box tool and draw over anything sensitive. The redaction is baked into the exported image, so the hidden pixels are not recoverable from the downloaded file.

Can it take a full-page (scrolling) screenshot?

Yes — use the Full-page website screenshot box: type a web address and we capture the entire scrolling page for you. This is the one feature that is not done in your browser: the address you enter is sent to FreeWWW's server, which loads the page and returns a full-length image. We don't store the URL or the image, and only public pages work. (The reason your browser can't do this itself is that its Screen Capture API only ever exposes the currently visible frame — it can't scroll or stitch a page together.)

Which browsers and devices are supported?

Any modern desktop browser with the Screen Capture API — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Opera — can capture your screen. On phones and tablets, operating systems generally block screen capture from web pages, but you can still use Open image to edit a picture you already have.
