Improve Your Reading Speed & Comprehension
Speed reading is the practice of reading text quickly while maintaining good comprehension. This free trainer helps you develop faster reading skills through multiple training modes:
Getting Started: Begin at 250 WPM if you're new to speed reading. Gradually increase as you improve. Most people read at 200-250 WPM normally, but with practice, you can reach 500-1000+ WPM!

Stop "saying" words in your head. Your brain can process words faster than you can speak them. Try humming or chewing gum while reading to break this habit.
Train yourself to see multiple words at once. Focus on the center of text blocks and let your peripheral vision capture surrounding words.
Avoid re-reading sentences. Trust your brain's ability to process information on the first pass. Use a pointer or your finger to maintain forward momentum.
Consistency is key. Practice for 15-20 minutes daily. Start slow and gradually increase speed as your comprehension remains high.
Skim headings, subheadings, and key terms before reading. This primes your brain for the content and improves comprehension at higher speeds.
Not all words are equal. Focus on nouns, verbs, and key concepts. Skip filler words like "the," "and," "but" when speed reading.
RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) eliminates eye movement, the slowest part of reading. Train with this mode to build speed.
Monitor your WPM and comprehension scores. Increase speed only when maintaining 80%+ comprehension. Quality over speed!
