- Goal: Beat the dealer by getting a hand value closer to 21 without exceeding it
- Card Values: Number cards = face value, Face cards = 10, Aces = 1 or 11
- Blackjack: An Ace + 10-value card on the first two cards (pays 3:2)
- Dealer Rules: Must hit on 16 or less, must stand on 17 or more
Player Options
- Hit: Take another card
- Stand: Keep your current hand and end your turn
- Double Down: Double your bet, receive exactly one more card, then stand
- Split: If dealt two cards of the same value, split them into two separate hands (requires additional bet)
- Insurance: When dealer shows an Ace, you can bet up to half your original bet that they have Blackjack (pays 2:1)
- Surrender: Forfeit your hand and receive half your bet back (only available as first action)
Basic Strategy Tips
- Always stand on 17 or higher
- Hit on 11 or lower
