🌾 About This Free Grain Calculator

This free tool helps farmers, grain operators, and agricultural professionals calculate bin capacity, convert moisture content, estimate drying costs with their own fuel prices, and determine safe storage duration. Supports 30 grain types including corn, soybeans, wheat varieties, barley, oats, sorghum, rice, canola, sunflower, flax, rye, millet, triticale, buckwheat, lentils, peas, chickpeas, mustard, safflower, hemp, popcorn, and spelt.

Bin Capacity supports round bins, hopper-bottom bins, rectangular flat storage, and grain bags. Enter dimensions in feet or meters. Results shown in bushels, cubic feet/meters, short tons, and metric tonnes. Save bins for later.

Moisture Conversion converts between wet-basis (standard market) and dry-basis. Shows comparison to safe storage thresholds.

Drying Cost estimates cost using five dryer types with your own fuel prices for propane, natural gas, electricity, and diesel. Accounts for efficiency, shrinkage, and fan energy.

Storage Duration shows days of safe storage before 0.5% dry matter loss at various temperature and moisture combinations based on published research.
